About Cassius

Cassius Lanier is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He is the 5th child born to Aimee Patricia Richardson and the late Howard “Lip” Lanier. A strong proponent of education, he is proud alumnus of Central High School and the illustrious Stillman College. He is also a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Epsilon Epsilon chapter.

He adopted a love for his community through his father’s vision and founded Community Unity in 2010 where he, and other community leaders, provide many different resources to families in the Tuscaloosa area. A prolific businessman and entrepreneur, in Sept. of 2017, he opened Lanier Automotive, LLC and has successfully climbed to the top of the leader board in used car sales in the state of AL, as well as providing jobs for the community. In addition to being a Tuscaloosa business owner, he serves on the Strategic Planning Committee for Habitat for Humanity. His immense community involvement has caused him to be selected as a member of the Mayor’s Project Unity and Chief’s Commission for Community Policing. Cassius is also a faithful member of the Impact Nation Fellowship Church, where he has been a deacon for almost 20 years.

He and his wife, Mesha Lanier, were married in August 2010. She, along with their 6 children and 3 grandchildren are his passions and the loves of his life.

Cassius can be best described as one who loves God, his family, friends and his community. He never gives up on others, regardless of their past or present mistakes and he is always willing to lend a helping hand to his fellow man. He is indeed A MAN FOR THE PEOPLE.
