Goals for District 7

Small Business Revitalization

One of the core foundations of a community’s economic strength is the providing for the establishment of entrepreneurship and small businesses. Our key mission is to revitalize the small business sector in District 7; creating more jobs and revenue for further expansion.

Strong & Safe Schools

We will partner with our community schools, administrators, teachers, parents and students to address the educational & safety concerns and provide assistance for students who are are at-risk, in need of supplies, tutoring, etc. Our goal is to assist our schools to increase key partnerships, promote academic success & prime environments of learning.

Community Renewal

The potential for District 7 to be the emblematic community within the city of Tuscaloosa begins with renewing our neighborhoods. Doing the work of ridding our community of dilapidated properties, establishing “clean community concepts” and partnering with the highway department to ensure that our roads and highways are up to par will set the standard of other areas within the city.

Second Chance
Program

Providing educational & economic opportunities are essential to the restoring of those who have made life mistakes and find it difficult to re-assimilate back into society. We desire to create programs and pipelines with area schools and businesses to give opportunities to former felons to be both rehabilitated and reestablished to become productive citizens of our community.

Ensuring
Safety

Safety is key to the stability and growth of any community. Families, businesses and neighborhoods deserve to be free from illegal encroachments. We will work with the Tuscaloosa Police & community leaders to promote both safety and fair law enforcement practices. Through these, we can become the example for other communities in our city to follow.

One District
One Tuscaloosa

Our goal is to build our district into being the “beacon of community strength” for the city of Tuscaloosa to follow. To accomplish this, we will establish regular community conversations to hear concerns and ideas on how we can focus on ensuring that every person in District 7 has a voice and a “seat at the table” on what’s best for our community and ultimately, the city of Tuscaloosa.
